Privacy policy

This page explains what hazecam accesses on your iPhone, what leaves it and why. hazecam is made by Davila Studios. There is no account and no login: it is just you and your iPhone, and that is how we treat what passes through it.

Camera. To film with the film stocks. The image runs through the app's chemistry and goes straight into the recording that stays on your iPhone.

Microphone. To record sound along with the picture.

Photos, add-only. hazecam asks for permission to save the videos you record to your camera roll. It is an add-only permission, not a read permission: the app does not open or see what is already in your library, it only writes the new video there when you ask it to save.

If you import a third-party LUT file (.cube) to build a camera of your own, that file stays only on your iPhone: hazecam reads it to apply the color, and never sends it anywhere.

Two services receive information from hazecam: PostHog, which measures app usage, and Sentry, which receives crash reports. Neither one receives video, photos, names, or contacts.

PostHog, app usage

hazecam sends events such as which camera was loaded, whether a recording finished or failed, whether the subscription screen was opened. Every event carries an anonymous identifier, a random code created once when you install the app, with no relation to your name, email, Apple ID, or any account. hazecam never makes the call that would link that code to a person: the identifier stays anonymous from start to finish.

What these events contain: which camera and film stock are loaded, whether a manual control was used, whether a purchase or a restore happened, closed codes like these.

What they never contain: video, photos, or any image frame, text you typed, file names, a person's name, contacts, or email. The PostHog servers hazecam uses are located in the European Union.

Sentry, crash reports

When the app crashes or hits an error, a technical report may be sent to Sentry: which part of the code was running, the iPhone model, the iOS version, and the hazecam version. The same anonymous identifier from PostHog travels with that report, so the two dashboards can be cross-referenced without identifying you.

What these reports never contain: video, photos, your name, email, contacts, or anything you recorded.

Buying any hazecam plan, subscription or lifetime, is handled entirely by Apple, inside the App Store. hazecam never sees your card number, your payment details, or your Apple account information: that stays between you and Apple.

hazecam shows no ads and does not sell or share data with anyone who sells ads. The app does not track you across other apps or websites, which is why it does not ask for the iPhone tracking permission: there is nothing to track.

Since there is no account, the usage data hazecam collects is anonymous and does not identify who you are: there is no way to look up "your data" by name or email, because that link never existed.

Even so, if you want to request access, correction, or deletion of any information related to your use of the app, under the LGPD in Brazil or the GDPR in the European Union, write to [email protected]. We will respond and do what is possible given how anonymous this data is.

hazecam is not directed at children under 13 and was not built to collect information from children.

This policy may change as the app grows. When it does, we update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the current version.
